Photo Therapy

Sometimes you just need a good photo shoot to make you feel better, so that is just what my friend Stacy and I did. We turned the music up and our cameras on and had some fun.

Photographing others

Photographing others. Another assignment for my Portraiture class. This was one of the most terrifying experiences of my entire life! Nahh, just kidding it was not that bad. But for once in my life I found I was shy?! Most often, I never ever have any problems striking up a conversation with anyone, or photographing a client that I have never worked with before, but for some strange reason going up to random people on the street and asking them if I could photograph them was a huge struggle for me! Who knew?! I totally learned a lesson from this, and it was an experience that made me go completely out of my comfort zone, but I am extremely excited about all the new people I got to meet and interact with. If I had to do it all over again, I totally would love to photograph more strangers, I think I am going to continue to practice photographing strangers in the future, it turned out to be a lot of fun! Oh and of course I brought my friend Daniana along for this 4 + hour adventure so she could help me get over my fear!

This was the first person I photographed. She was very sweet and actually told me she understood how difficult these assignments could be. What was cool was she was actually a photographer as well, so I asked the right person for sure.

This girl was sitting in Boston Common just enjoying a day out with her friend. I totally interrupted her snack time, oops!

This boy was playing frisbee with his friend in The Common. He was adorable, so we approached him and asked if he was willing to be photographed haha.

This girl was a student from Emerson taking a stroll with her friend.

This guy was hanging out at Faneuil Hall smoking a cigarette. He asked if it was a portrait of him acting natural, and of course I said yes so he would be a bit more comfortable being photographed by a stranger. I cropped out the cigarette when photographing him on purpose :P (I have a big thing against cigarettes).

This girl was hanging out with a bunch of friends in Faneuil Hall, they were searching for a place to eat.

This boy was enjoying some vendor scooped ice cream with a girl :)
This boy was way too adorable to not photograph, he was enjoying some lunch with his friends in Faneuil Hall.

Intimate Portraiture

Every time I get an assignment for Portraiture class I get really excited because I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHING PEOPLE! This assignment was a lot of fun because I had to photograph people who were close to me and demonstrate our relationship through the photo somehow. I did a series that was a bit playful because my relationship with these people is fun, loving, and filled with all sorts of adventures.
Mike Favata. We always joke and say we're married. We ALWAYS bake together, wether it be cupcakes, cakes, and now our latest improvement PIES! It's always a bunch of fun baking together and it is a huge part of our friendship so of course when photographing him I chose to use his kitchen and we actually ended up baking a cake. It was delicious.

Kenny is one of my absolute best friends, ever. Him and I are always up for adventures when we are together and are always partaking in some form of crazy shenanigans. On this adventure we found a snow tunnel and of course we had to climb into it.

This is my dad Henry. He used to be a very shy man until recently, but he has always been a bit of a goofball, hum wonder where I get it from. He didn't really want me to photograph him while he was looking at the camera, but he was a good sport none the less. Poker is one of his favorite things ever and he is always trying to teach me how to play, but I'd rather stick to board games :P

This cutie pie is Gavin. He is my cousin Stephanie's 6 month old son. My family is extremely close, so we just say he is my nephew and I'm his Auntie CC (Cousin Casey).  I think he is absolutely adorable, and until he came around I was the baby of the family, so it is nice to be able to pass the torch down to him.

This is my cousin Doug with baby Gavin.  Doug is my older brother Andrew's age and he lived right down the street while we were growing up, so he was always more of another older brother than a cousin to me. To Gavin he is known as Uncle Dunkle, too funny.

And of course I just can't resist from posting a few more pictures of that sweetheart Gavin!

Self Portrait

For my Portraiture Class I had an assignment called self portrait, and all I can say is thank goodness for my tripod and my remote. I had a hard time really thinking how I wanted to portray myself in just five pictures, after a lot of soul searching I came up with a few things that I felt best represented me as of who I am right now.
Pink and Blue are my favorite colors, small portrait of my face.

I'm short, so I must accommodate with my stool.

I dislike the scar on my right shoulder, I plan to cover it with a tattoo in the future.

I love these tights.

This picture says a lot about who I am. My love for pink, Boston Red Sox, social networking, Taylor Swift, communication, and hanging out. My friends pictures are also on the wall.

Senior Portraits Class of 2011!

It's that time of year again! A couple of friends siblings and friends of mine asked me to photograph them for their senior portraits. It was so much fun having a photoshoot with each of them and going to different locations to photograph them based on their own personalities and interests.

Rachel Saunders, MHS Class of 2011
She is planning on attending MassArt this coming Fall.
Rachel came into Boston and we enjoyed the scenes around the Charles River.
She is my best friend Zac's younger sister.

Timmy Harpin, AVHS Class of 2011
He is planning on going into engineering work after graduation.
Timmy really enjoys the outdoors, so we went on some outdoor adventures to pick the location of his photos.
Timmy is part of my "second family", he is my best friend Kaila's younger brother.

Megan Diggs, MHS Class of 2011
Megan plans on Attending either Roger Williams or University of Maryland.
She and I went to the Grismill in Sudbury, MA, which is a beautiful place to be photographed.
Megan was a co-worker of mine from Dairy Queen, we always had a blast working together!
